Back in college, the girls in my dorm created a "Beautiful Boy Board." (This was in the long-long-ago, back when we didn't all have computers, so it was only natural for us to use cork and thumbtacks rather than free web hosting.) The idea was to admire men who not only were particularly pleasant to look at, but who also showed off their inner beauty. To qualify for display on the Beautiful Boy Board, the Beautiful Boy in question had to do something kind, generous, or generally good for humanity.
I would like to recreate that here, in an updated format, and with a less limited perspective. I would like to use this blog to honor beautiful people of any sex. With that in mind, here are the rules:
1. We are willing to overlook flaws. Beautiful candidates are not automatically disqualified for bad behavior or public displays of idiocy, though we may take those things into account when determining eligibility for placement on the blog. Very bad behavior may result in removal from the Beyond Beauty Blog after the honor has been bestowed.
2. Physical beauty may be judged at any point in the candidate's life. If he was gangly at sixteen, drool-worthy at twenty-nine, and doughy at sixty-three, he is eligible for a position on the Beyond Beauty Blog.
3. The Beyond Beauty Blog will tend toward celebrities and public figures, as they are in the public eye and often have enough personal wealth to afford grand gestures, but anyone is eligible for nomination. Simply submit a photo and a description of what the candidate has done to improve the world.
4. Inner beauty generally counts for more than outer beauty. Kind deeds are a stronger recommendation than flat stomachs.
5. The rules may be edited as the necessity arises.
